Judaism and Israel

Hello IsraelJudaism and Israel – Then and Now is a curriculum designed as a social studies enrichment resource for 6th-9th grade students. Presentations are narrated by trained NCJW volunteers and are offered at no cost to schools, churches, youth groups, and teacher education workshops. Four subject-area modules are available: Ancient Jewish History, Judaism During the Rise of Christianity and Islam, Modern Israel, and Jewish Religion: Holidays and Customs. Teachers may choose one or more subject modules to complement existing curriculum. Each module combines PowerPoint visuals and props into an interactive format for engaging student interest.

This curriculum conforms to Minnesota K-12 Academic Standards in History and Social Studies and includes bibliographic references. Its purpose is to provide information about Jewish history, Judaism, and Israel in order to enhance understanding, respect and tolerance of ethnic diversity and world cultures.
