Rose Rees Peace Awards
The Rose Rees Peace Awards commemorates Rose Rees, who died in 1935 while serving as president of NCJW’s Minneapolis Section and founder of the World Affairs Council of Minneapolis. Her passion was international peace and cooperation. NCJW gives an honorary award each year to a graduating senior from metro area participating schools with a demonstrated commitment toward international relations and world peace. An awards ceremony is held in the spring for award recipients and their teachers, principals, superintendents, friends and family.
The 75th anniversary of the Rose Rees Peace Awards Luncheon will be held in April 28th, 2010. We pleased to welcome keynote speaker, David Wellstone of Wellstone Action!, a national center for training and leadership development in the progressive tradition of Paul and Sheila Wellstone.
If you are interested in being on the planning committee or serving as a volunteer hostess on the day of the event, please contact the NCJW office.
