Rose Rees Peace Awards
Join inspirational high school students and their families at the 76th annual Rose Rees Peace Awards Luncheon, Wednesday, April 27 at 11:30 am at Temple Israel in Minneapolis.
This year’s keynote speaker is Star Tribune columnist Gail Rosenblum, who writes about people, issues and trends. Before joining the Star Tribune, Gail worked for nearly 20 years as a reporter, editor and essayist for many newspapers and national magazines, focusing on family issues and women's health.
The luncheon honors exceptional high school seniors from 20 area schools who have demonstrated an interest in and commitment to international relations and world peace. The award has been given annually since 1935, in honor of Rose Rees who died that same year while serving as our section president. Rees’s passion for international peace and cooperation was a guiding principle for her at NCJW and at the World Affairs Council of Minneapolis where she was a founder.
